"Matilda" Registration

Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda could be the school pupils' saving grace. In this show, we find many biblical themes from Romans 8, such as overcoming present suffering, identity and empowerment in Christ, and victory over evil.

Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda JR. is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

CASTING DETAILS: In person, 10-minute audition time slots are available on October 17th from 5-8 pm and October 18th from 9 am-4 pm. Parent Meeting for new families will be held from 10-11 am on November 1st. Callbacks will be held November 1st from 10 am-4 pm. All held at Redeemer Bible Church. 

TECH STUDENTS: Tech crew does not need to audition and will only be required to attend rehearsals starting with the Full Runs at Redeemer Bible Church. 

PLEASE NOTE: 
All tech and dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory for cast and crew, Feb 26-Mar 7.  It is vital for every student to be present any time they are called to rehearsal. If your student has a conflict with any one of these dates, we suggest that you consider registering for a different show instead. If your student has their heart set on Sound of Music and they choose to proceed, please know that any conflicts in this timeframe will significantly impact the roles for which they are considered in the casting process.
