Description
Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements along the way.
CASTING DETAILS: Auditions will be virtual. Song and monologue video auditions will be submitted via email between May 4 and May 8. Callbacks will be held in person on May 16th from 9 am-2 pm. All held at Redeemer Bible Church. Parent Meeting for new families will be held from 9-10 am on the same day as callbacks, May 16th.
TECH STUDENTS: Tech crew does not need to audition and will only be required to attend rehearsals starting with the Full Runs at Redeemer Bible Church.
PLEASE NOTE: All tech and dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory for cast and crew. We only have two weeks to put an entire musical production together, so it is vital for every student to be present any time they are called to rehearsal. If your student has a conflict with any one of these dates, we suggest that you consider registering for a different show or summer camp instead. If your student has their heart set on Charlotte's Web and they choose to proceed, please know that any conflicts in this timeframe will significantly impact the roles for which they are considered in the casting process.
